More from Neuschwanstein Castle
Ludwig built a yellow castle across from his for his mother - the Bavarian royal family still lives there!
Neuschwanstein Castle (aka the inspiration for Cinderella's castle)
This castle was worked on for 17 years - never finished - and Ludwig lived there for less than 1/2 a year. It is breathtaking in a couple ways - very beautiful and on top of a very high hill!
Überammergau
The palace tour took us to the Alps! We stopped in a very tiny town known for wood carving and their passion of Christ play. During the Black Plague, Oberammergau made a deal with god that if he took away the plague they would perform the passion play every year - the plague left and they performed it annually - and then every 5 years - and now every 10 years!
A day of King Ludwig ll!
We took a bus tour to see some beautiful palaces which were built for Ludwig ll. He seems to have been quite eccentric and a recluse of sorts. He loved swans and Richard Wagner. This post is pictures from his favorite palace - Linderhof - it is in the country and he built it where his father used to hunt.

Munich
We spent a day eating and drinking our way through Munich - amazing city! After a lot of small cities, it was quite a change to be in Munich. We ate well, drank well and enjoyed the sites as we'll!
Germany's Romantic Road
We took the Romantic Road from Rothenburg to Munich - I will have to post better pics and videos later! This is a quick recap!
